Unlike any foreigner, Paulson had dealt with China. When he was head of Goldman Sachs, he had an essential role in opening up China to private enterprise. The Strategic Economic Dialogue was created with the world’s second largest economy. He has negotiated on economic reforms with China, while safeguarding the U.S. financial system. Paulson has worked with many top Chinese leaders, like Xi Jinping.
