It’s only fitting that Charlotte’s biggest-ever conference around technology, innovation, venture capital and all things digital should feature an appropriately big-time keynote speaker.
Enter Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak, or “The Woz,” as he’s often called.
Wozniak, who along with the late Steve Jobs launched one of the most successful tech companies in history, will speak March 31 at the Southeast Venture Conference in Charlotte.
The ninth annual event alternates host sites and will mark its second visit to Charlotte after a 2013 debut here. SEVC 2015 will bring hundreds of venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs and others to town for the two-day event. UNC Charlotte’s Charlotte Venture Challenge will take place as part of the conference, giving added publicity to the local startup competition.
Conference organizer TechMedia is also planning the Digital Summit Charlotte conference to immediately follow SEVC 2015. That event is a digital strategies forum attracting hundreds of marketers and designers.
All three events will be held uptown at Le Meridien hotel and marks the largest such event in Charlotte’s history, says Terry Cox, whose Business Innovation and Growth organization helped recruit and coordinate the events here.
The SEVC is expected to draw 50-plus high-growth companies to pitch their ventures to the room of investors.
