Matt Manero combines his business brilliance with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in transportation equipment finance. Today, he is a CEO leading four companies that generate over $100,000,000 per year in business with a base of more than 10,000 clients.

Matt launched his first business, Commercial Fleet Financing, Inc., in 1995 with a phone, a folding table and the unyielding confidence of a single client, a trucker. Fast forward 20 years: Commercial Fleet Financing, Inc. made Inc. magazine’s Top 500/5000 list of fastest growing companies in America in 2014. Matt is the creator and personality behind RoadGrit.TV the first and only online video network featuring original programming for and by innovators, operators, movers and shakers of the transportation industry.

His companies have been recognized in trade publications such as Overdrive, Transport Topics, Commercial Carrier Journal, and Dealer Solutions Magazine. Matt hosts his own weekly Radio Show aptly named, “The Grit” which airs on lifestyletalkradio.com and also on CFFnation.com. In addition to “The Grit,” Matt has authored a series of quick read books entitled “10 Tips Every Trucker, Tower, Mover and Construction Co. The difference between success and failure is not about intelligence, birthright or luck. Great achievers all have one thing in common: an indomitable will to push through the inevitable ups and downs of business and have what I call GRIT. GRIT is defined as your ability to cope with high stress, crises and failure and push through towards success. GRIT is something that you are not only born with but can be taught, and it’s used to drive you to even greater heights. In my GRIT talk, I teach people the coping mechanisms and the strategies to in the face of struggles turn it into hyperdrive and use those lessons to create more success. The trick is learning how to operate at peak performance regardless of the external factors in your way.

The transportation industry is the bellwether of economics in this country. It is the first industry to show signs of a recession or economic recovery and also the place where innovation in technology can most radically change our way of living. Understanding the future of technology and the way in which ground, air and rail will evolve creates enormous business and economic advantages, and my focus is to help business leaders be ahead of the curve to create more efficient and predictive business models and efficiencies.

In order to continue to grow your business, you need your employees to operate at their peak. They need to be motivated, driven and feel as if they will be rewarded with not just their individual success but company success. These rewards are both tangible and intangible. I have grown my business from scratch to over $150million per year, and without learning how to get my employees to buy in, I would be nowhere. I have created a companywide reward system that also compensates great individual performance which every company needs in order to grow at exponential rates.
